Why choose Modest Beauty?

Minimalist skincare is at the heart of everything we do here at Modest Beauty: our products, our formulas, our ingredients, and everything in between. We create results-driven, small-batch skincare that is carefully crafted to suit even the most sensitive skin. And that’s a promise!

What makes Modest Beauty unique?

  • It is specifically formulated for sensitive, rosacea, and eczema-prone skin types.
We are committed to using only ingredients that benefit the health of the skin and support the integrity of our formulations. We don’t take into account whether something is synthetic or natural, instead choosing ingredients based on compatibility.
  • We are transparent about our ingredients and where we source our ingredients.
Each product description includes an INCI list of all the ingredients used in our product formulations. The percentages of hero ingredients are clearly specified in each product description. Effective & high-quality ingredients drive our brand, and that is why our ingredients are sourced from credible suppliers in South Africa (we only support local). Where possible, we only source Certified Organic ingredients that are COSMOS and ECOCERT-approved.
  • We exclude artificial colorants, fragrances, and irritants from our formulations.
We avoid ingredients that we believe are at the root of almost every skin issue. Our formulations are free from essential oils, drying alcohols, mineral oils, parabens, fragrances/dyes, and SLS.
  • Modest Beauty is proudly South African and all products are manufactured by us.
We are one of the few skincare companies that proudly formulate and manufacture our products ourselves in our South African HQ. Yes, each and every one.
  • We respect the environment and believe in zero waste.
By using natural and organic skincare products, you’re helping to minimize your environmental impact and support the sustainability of our environment. PET bottles are made of one of the few polymers that can be recycled into the same form – a new beverage bottle – again and again. This neatly closes the recycling loop and enables ‘cradle to cradle’ packaging solutions.
